OML 17 HCDT Community Projects Update

The OML 17 Host Communities Development Trust (HCDT), through the NNPC/Heirs Joint Venture, has completed several development projects across its host communities.

So far, these completed projects have focused on improving electricity, education, healthcare, roads, water supply, security, community facilities, and skills development. The projects are designed to address important needs within the communities and create practical benefits for residents.

From the provision of electricity and solar lighting to the renovation of schools and health facilities, construction of roads and water systems, and training of community members in different skills, the projects reflect the Trust’s commitment to supporting sustainable community development.

Below is a summary of the projects completed so far, arranged by community:

Etche 1

  • Okoche – Electricity Infrastructure

  • Umuebulu HC – Health Centre Renovation
  • Umuebulu School – Completion of CSS Umuebulu

Etche 2

  • Okoroagu Central – Capacity Building
  • Egwi – Construction of Plaza
  • Abara – Electricity Infrastructure
  • Umuechem – Electricity Infrastructure
  • Umuochorgu Okoroagu – Town Hall Renovation
  • Ozuzu – Skills Acquisition and Empowerment in Tailoring, Catering and Hairdressing, including equipment
  • Odagwa 2 – Road Grading
  • Isu – Road Grading

Obio/Akpor 3

  • Atali – Security Gates
  • Rumuokwurushi – 0.33km Concrete Road
  • Rumunduru – Electricity Infrastructure
  • Rumuokoro – Town Hall Renovation
  • Rukpakwulusi – Refurbishment of Water System
  • Eliozu – Concrete Foundation/Embankment for Community School
  • Eneka – Solar Lighting

Ikwerre

  • Omuchi-Igwuruta – Electricity Infrastructure
  • Agwarire – Electricity Infrastructure
  • Agboga – Electricity Infrastructure
  • Omumah – Electricity Infrastructure
  • Ogbodo – Solar Borehole

Obio/Akpor 1

  • Ogbogoro – School Building Repairs
  • Ozuoba – Solar Borehole
  • Rumualogu – Security Gates
  • Mgbuoga – Skills Acquisition and Training of 12 Persons in Fashion Designing
  • Oromeruezimgbu – Solar Lighting
  • Rumuolumeni – Town Hall Furnishing
  • Rumuekini – Electricity Infrastructure

Oyigbo

  • Umusia – Provision of Market
  • Urban – Water Factory
  • Iriebe – Six-Classroom Block
